Anastasia Beck doesn't go by her real name simply because there are way too many strange people in the world, and her family doesn't know much about her writing, and this is her attempt at keeping it a secret until she has it honed perfectly. (Don't tell her mom she said that...) However, her pen name is really, really close to her true birth name.
Anastasia got into writing because of her grandmother, who would watch Oprah with her and tell her all the great book title ideas she had. Her grandmother has co-authored a non-fiction book ( ) and has influenced Anastasia greatly. Anastasia lived in her grandmother's home, which was a church, for a short period of her life, but that was when the fantasy and imagination first sparked within her.

She speaks English, French, Latin, and a tad of Russian.Obsessed with tracking her family tree, she has discovered she's the descendants of the family that owned Alnwick Castle (aka Hogwarts, the de Percy family), kings of Ireland (on her writing grandmother's side) and her 6th Great-Uncle is President Abraham Lincoln.
She began writing herself 5 years ago, on fanfiction, and then moved to Inkpop (now Figment) and Wattpad. She has won the Interlochen Flash-Fiction contest for Day 3, Lawn, which can be found in the Flash-Fiction tab, via Figment. Her first NaNoWriMo participation resulted in a win with an outstanding 77,000 words. She aspires to be a published writer and hopes to one day be a common bookshelf name.
